Quick recap of my trip. Had alot of fun (see pics). Rooney rocked but the crowd pretty much sucked. I just saw this review http://www.fatampmusic.com/Live-Shows-rooney.html of the show in London, and pretty much wish I’d been there ![]()
First of all, sorry about the different pictures sizes and how big they are… but I’m really tired and can’t really be bothered to do anything about it.
So it all started VERY early monday morning. I left home 7.45am to go pick up Britta. We left Britta’s place at about 8.15am and started to drive towards Berlin. The traffic was actually quite smooth and we were in Berlin around 14.30pm. We then checked in to our hotel and went out for a short walk. We went down to Knaack where Rooney was going to perform later in the evening. There was no posters up or anything. We then went just across the street to get some lunch. On our way back to the hotel we passed by Knaack again, and this time there was three posters up. Britta wanted to go see if Rooney had arrived yet and she went in the back door while I stood outside looking quite embarressed. She didn’t find them, but she did have a quick look around
(nothing really criminal tho!!). We then went out front again, where Britta “helped herself” to one of the posters while I tried to look like I didn’t know her. She’s a great friend tho… She “helped herself” to the poster – just to give it to me – (even though I didn’t ask her too) and sometimes when she does things like that I really love her. She’s a great friend.
Britta with the poster she “accidently stumbled upon while walking” *lol*. She’s quite proud
We went back to the hotel and started to get ready.. Britta was gonna straighten my hair (I’ve got a lot of curls) – and she really cursed me for that. *lol*
Me before getting ready…
After we finished getting ready we thought we’d better go down to Knaack.. We didn’t drive all the way there to stand in the back. When we got down there, there was about 2hrs untill they were gonna let us in. There was only 3 other people there. So we went into the shop right next door and bought some beer.
And then some more beers
Uuhhmmmm.. BECKS…
Just after 8pm they let us go inside the club… We still had to stand in line and wait to get into the room where Rooney was going to play.. But they did have a tv and a bar.. So we had another beer while watching Rooney soundrehearse on the tv (with no sound). A bit later they let us in… Loui was still sítting by the keyboard working… But noone bothered him and he didn’t really seem to notice all the people (well, I would have pretended not to too).
We were still waiting……
and waiting………………………
and waiting……….. And then we saw Roberts microphone *lol*
Rooney was supposed to go on at 9pm… but 9.30 – still no sign of them… But then we saw this…..
And then we waited some more… but still having fun…..
close to 10pm and still no Rooney.. But I think they changed the time or something, cause most people didn’t come untill close to 10pm. THEN… Shortly after 10pm… Rooney came in and people was screaming like crazy. They started out with Blueside.. Okay.. that isn’t my favorite song… But it was really great..
Second song was Calling The World – see ½ of it here. The sound isn’t very good tho – cause the music was crazy loud and my camera didn’t really like that. It’s okay towards the end – except you can hear me singing along
Sorry bout that ;P
Robert singing… The poor guy lost his voice.. But luckily they finished the show. Feel better soon.
Matt looking cool as ever
Robert looked straight at Britta for a good 10seconds or something.. And she didn’t even notice untill I told her later and showed her the picture she took.
Loui working the keyboard… awesome job
Ned just rocking those drums…
Taylor… did a really great job… eventhough the guitar almost hit me a couple of times *lol*
Another shot of Robert…. The show was AWESOME – but the crowd sucked.. fortunately I didn’t notice to much, because I was in the front looking at the boys and singing along.. I don’t think most of the people there knew the lyrics, not even to the old songs… too bad.. I sang along to all the songs.. probably sounded horrible, but had fun and I LOVE the songs…
The show was awesome… Eventhough I would have liked for it to be a bit longer.. but don’t we always want that.. And after hearing about Roberts voice I just really think it’s great that they finished the show.
I was really excited that they played “I Should Have Been After You” and “Are You Afraid”… and all the other songs as well
After the show we got a few more beers….

And we had a lot of fun.. We met all the guys except Robert and we got pictures with all of them (Matt, Ned, Loui and Taylor). I got to ask a lot of stupid questions (I blame it on the beers *lol*) and they guys were very nice and answered all my questions… And Britta and I had a lot of fun.
We then went home to bed. In the middle of the night there was a lot of thunder.. Like really high and it almost sounded like bombs… never heard anything like that.. Anyway, we slept and got up around 9am today.
We took a shower, packed our bags and went down to breakfast.. Great breakfast by the way. We checked out and put our bags in my car. Then we took the tram to Alexander Platz, where Britta bought some cd’s that we can’t get in Denmark. After that we took the tram back and started our drive home.. We left Berlin about 12.15pm…
We stopped a few times on the way home – the last one was at the bordershops, where we bought a lot of pepsi max (cheaper there) and Britta bought a lot of alcohol of different kind… I think I was in my appartment around 8 or 9pm or something like that…
I had a really good time and it was great to see Rooney play live.. Hope that Robert gets better soon.
OBS. This blog might make it sound like we drink alot.. but actually I don’t drink that often… just thought I’d mention it
